War Movie SetThese are my favorite war movies of all time………all time.  I know there are hundreds and you probably won’t agree with me but I love them all so I’m only mentioning my special ones.  War movies, no matter how gruesome or confronting, are inspiring or at the very least, touching.

I can’t help but feel a sense of duty to my country or fellow man after having watch a good movie with bullets and bombs.  I get goosebumps from the courage and heroism displayed, can’t get enough of it.  These movies aren’t anything new and I’ll probably hear the old familiar groan of ‘duh’.  So I won’t list movie giants like Black Hawk Down or Saving Private Ryan.

Here we go!

 Notable Mentions

K-19: The Widowmaker

Tears of the Sun

Men of Honour

Enemy at the Gates

Hart’s War

  1. Wow, this looks interesting. Being 63, I’ve seen my share, and one that comes to my mind is Where Eagles Dare. Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood , I think, it’s been a while. It was done in the 70s.
I’m going to keep looking through your site

  2. Cheers Jim,

“Where Eagles Dare”. I haven’t seen it but I’m going to now. I’m 26 so every now and then one slips through the net! Thanks for the comment.
