What is Inception about?
Dreams. Literally, while your asleep, it’s your dreams. It goes on and on as well, dreaming about dreaming dreams. A man and his associate have a unique talent of stealing one’s secrets by entering into their dreams. After a botched job, he is forced to take a job and recruit a team, however it may let him see his family again. For an unknown reason he will be arrested in he returns back to the United States.
Directed by Christopher Nolan. Starring Leonardo Dicaprio,Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michel Caine, Cillian Murphy, Ken Watanabe, Tom Berenger, Pete Postlethwaite, Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard.
What is the one thing that motivates me with Inception?
I know the idea of the movie is obviously fictitious (well let us hope so with the dreaming aspect) but it’s so good I’ve found this movie stimulates my own creativity. For example, and bare with me, but the notion of planting an idea in someone’s head is and would be handy. I’ve done a bit of looking into this and all the greatest salespeople, leaders and, I dare say, con artists, have this down to a fine art. All these people and the characters in this movie have special skills refined over years of hard work and dedication.
So why not have the skill of planting an idea in someone’s head as one of your skills? My view is that if you do, you can get people to do what you want and follow your ideas and dreams. I could write a book on this subject but the crux is, if you can get someone to come up with your idea and make them think it was theirs, you win.
Who is my favorite character? Why?
Eames portrayed by Tom Hardy. I like this character because he’s so cool. This is true for all Tom Hardy’s roles though, he brings such a presence to the screen that demands your attention. Eames is a lone wolf and doesn’t need anybody but I like the respect he has for Leonardo DiCaprio’s character Cobbs and vice versa. Here’s Eames in the clip to the left showing up Joseph Gordon-Levitt character Arthur.
What this movie’s famous line?
Cobb played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
“What is the most resilient parasite? Bacteria? A virus? An intestinal worm? An idea. Resilient… highly contagious. Once an idea has taken hold of the brain it’s almost impossible to eradicate. An idea that is fully formed – fully understood – that sticks; right in there somewhere.”
