What is Young Guns II about?
This movie takes off a few months after where the last one had stopped. I do suggest watching the first Young Guns before watching this film. You’ll still be able to follow the story but by watching the first one you’ll get way more out of the second. Anyway, Billy the Kid escapes custody and reforms a gang and is being pursued by an old friend of his, Pat Garrett. Garrett became the law after being a bandit. That probably doesn’t sound like much but it is incredible viewing with a killer soundtrack.
Starring Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland, Christian Slater, Lou Diamond Phillips, Viggo Mortensen, James Coburn, Balthazar Getty and William Petersen.
What is the one thing that motivates me with Young Guns II?
I think it is the same as the first movie. These are young guys making stuff happen. Although this time they’re on the wrong side of the law, I still find it impressive none of them are over 25 yet have made names for themselves.
Who is my favorite character? Why?
Unlike Young Guns where I like all the characters, in the second, I think Billy the Kid is the standout. I like it how he is such a brave leader at such a young age and never falters in the leading of men.
What this movie’s famous line?
Billy the Kid (William H. Bonney) played by Emilio Estevez, said to cattle king’s ranch-hand trying to get his attention.
“Yoohoo. I’ll make you famous!”
What elemental message do I see?
The same as the first film again I think. Billy the Kid lives in infamy to this day. He was only 21, how old are you?
What do the critics think?
Who cares, I love it!
